Alumina[WA, PWA, Cubic Alumina]

What is Alumina (Al2O3) ?

Alumina (Al₂O₃) is a highly durable material, second only to silicon carbide in hardness.
It is chemically inert, can withstand high temperatures, and offers excellent electrical insulation. Due to these characteristics, it is commonly used as a filler material to provide insulation and wear resistance.

We manufacture three types of alumina particles:

  •    1.WA - White Fused Alumina
  •    2.PWA - Plate-shaped Alumina
  •    3.Cubic Alumina

We can offer the best alumina to meet customer’s specific needs.

Features and Strengths of WA

The features of our WA

  •    1.Line-up: wide range of average particle size from 0.3μm to 60μm
  •    2.Narrow and controlled particle size distribution

Expected Applications of WA

  •    1.Electrical insulation filler (e.g., improves insulation in components ranging from low to high voltage parts.)
  •    2.Wear-resistant filler (e.g., enhances durability for resin-based parts.)
  •    3.Friction material (e.g., improves friction performance for brake pads.)

Specifications of WA

Particle size is measured by electrical sensing zone methods up to size #8000, by sedimentation balance methods for #10000 and by laser diffraction dispersion methods for #20000, #30000.
Note(1):Particle size at 75% point(dv-75 value)

The features of our PWA

  •    1.Plate-shaped particles with high aspect ratio.
  •    2.Line-up: average particle size from 3μm to 30μm.
  •    3.Narrow and controlled particle size distribution.

Expected Applications of PWA

  •    1.Wear resistance
  •    2.Low aggressiveness for processing equipment
  •    3.Optical properties(light diffusion etc.)

Features and Strengths of Cubic Alumina

The features of our cubic alumina

  •    1.The crystalline phase of cubic alumina can be tailored. (ex: Boehmite, γ, δ, θ, α)
  •    2.Narrow and controlled particle size distribution by hydrothermal synthesis technology.
  •    3.Unique hexahedron/cubic shape.

Specifications of Cubic Alumina

  • Line-up : 100nm, 200nm, 300nm, 700nm (length of a side of a hexagon)
